We can be sure that with cartoon drawings we may not be anatomically correct for the sake of amusement. Hmm, but this does give me some ideas–thanks!

That said, can I make a suggestion? It’s pretty much standard operating procedure on many comic sites to transcribe the comments for both SEO and user searches later. Many, in fact lament the fact they did not do so earlier in their development, and are faced with the daunting task of retroactively doing so (or begging their users to).

If SEO is the only thing you’re aiming for, just transcribe the contents:

[Panel 1] Narrator: Little Billy gets his wish from Santa for a new baby pet dinosaur.

I’m sorry for coming across like so much of a jerk in that previous comment (re-reading it, it’s much harsher than I’d intended). I LIKE the comics you’re creating here, and I like the comments, as I said before, when you’re relating them to past experiences and/or talking about your motivations/intent; it’s interesting to hear from the author/artist. Especially, I don’t want to seem ungrateful or rude.

As both an artist and visual comedian, you must realize how it removes the zing of your punchlines to dumb them down so far. I hadn’t given sufficient thought to your rationale, and it is a good one, but perhaps a more direct approach may serve as well and maintain the shock value better.

I would bet we may be able to convince the webmaster Attila to drop some of these captions if readers like you will begin linking to the entries and describing them in your own way. Fact is, any reader that can do that and lets us know I will argue with Attila and Levid & Lange on your behalf to see what we can do. I’m always breaking the rules on this site–even though every thing is supposed to be made public you should see the emails I get behind he scenes for some of the comic strip ideas.

I will let the webmaster comment further if they want but there are normally reasons for everything being done.

Some of them, when you actually write something about your life or experiences, contributes to the content. In these cases however, it feels like you either are REQUIRED to write something as part of the submission process, or that you feel the need to explain to the most minute detail. No joke is funny if it needs to be explained. As an example:

‘A critical feedback left by a user complaining that everything posted is over-explained.’

Of course we could start another thread featuring ‘Apple – approved’ panels for you, but that’s another story.

Please, please, please, pleasepleaseplease, get rid of the stupid “explanations” under the comics – I’m imploring you, here. They are useless – either people “get it” and it’s funny, or they don’t. If they don’t there’s no point in explaining the comic (over and over and over): “Two ducks have fun”, “Another duck joins the two ducks” … OMFG!!! It is incredibly annoying, irksome, and irritating!!! I am not a moron, nor am I illiterate.

Please delete them – they absolutely ruin the great strips here.

Also – you could please add a way to get to the first in a series, so that we don’t have to read the strips backwards. That would be really nice.

The title is supposed to be Quax everyone. My bad. There was already one hell of a staff argument on this (if you saw my article so big apologies). At least one of Comstock’s dumb titles didn’t get on the strip (don’t worry, he never reads these comments).

I’m still working on my article on this strip and will have to go over this one and the other one that I had a problem with. I don’t think it’s really fair to add this in after we talked.

I honestly don’t think it’s that bad to occasionally use the word “retard.” Comic strips aren’t politically correct. But I guess you can let other readers give feedback if they want to add their own comments on the subject.

Besides, this comic strip is destined to “go bad.” I think they all will eventually. I sent you an email about writing an article on making your case to the readers, I’d do it soon.

Swenson, I got your email, but we agreed to try to air out as much of our sh**t as possible on the site so the readers can see the process behind the comics. It’s fine to email but I would prefer you also write some articles on things that happen like this.

I’m saving Comstock’s drunken emails. I plan to publish some of them at a later date. Funny sh**t, even if he was trying to insult me.

As for Comstock, he was probably just messing with you. Yeah, we had some beers but we weren’t wasted–but Comstock can’t tolerate alchohol so he had 2 beers and passed out. Then he went outside to pee instead of using his own bathroom. I noticed when he got back he was laughing hysterically and using his laptop so that might explain any questionable emails. I swear to god, we need to write a comic strip about him. He’s not quite right.

Also, you and Lange did not actually post the comics. You tried. We went in and fixed them. You have to hit the submit button to do that–not to embarrass you or anything

A note to the readers, Dan Levid likes to exaggerate a lot! So I wouldn’t take too much that he writes seriously. And yeah, I’m allowed to say that because I’m not an employee, I’m an independent contractor (freelancer). Plus Lange (the other boss) said I could say whatever I wanted about Dan and not get fired. Check out the new comics everyone!
